Prescription Collection in Cirencester

Collecting repeat prescriptions from pharmacies across Cirencester and the surrounding villages, and dropping off new scripts.

Getting to the pharmacy sounds straightforward until it becomes difficult. A busy week, a car off the road, a knee that is not right, a parent at home who needs company. Martin collects repeat prescriptions from pharmacies across Cirencester and the villages, and can drop off new scripts at the GP or pharmacy on your behalf.

What is included

Collection from Lloyds, Boots, the Co-op pharmacy in Tetbury, the Cotswold Care Pharmacy in Fairford, and the main pharmacies in Cirencester itself. Martin signs in where required, collects the bag under the right name, and brings it to your kitchen. Repeat prescription scripts can also be dropped off at your GP surgery or at the pharmacy's drop box.

For the first visit, Martin will confirm with you what paperwork the pharmacy needs. Most pharmacies are happy for somebody to collect on your behalf with a signed note or a pre-nominated collector. Martin will talk you through that.

What is NOT included

Martin does not give any medical advice, open your medication, sort dosette boxes, or handle controlled drugs beyond collecting the sealed bag. If the pharmacy needs you there in person (some controlled medicines do), he will tell you and arrange a collection trip together instead. He will not make decisions about your medicines.

How long it takes

A Cirencester pharmacy collection is usually under 30 minutes door to door. Tetbury or Fairford is a longer round trip, around an hour, because of the drive.

Pricing

First hour £55, and most prescription collections fall well within the first hour if you are inside Cirencester. Outer-village runs (Fairford, Tetbury, Lechlade) are typically an hour because of travel time. Booking a prescription collection alongside a grocery run or errands visit usually works out more cost-effective. Free travel within five miles of Cirencester.

Common questions

Is my prescription safe with you? Yes. Martin is DBS-checked, insured, and the prescription is handed directly to you in its sealed bag, not left on a doorstep.

What if the pharmacy will not release the prescription to a third party? Martin will tell you straight away, and either arrange to collect you to go in person, or ring you so you can authorise it over the phone if the pharmacy allows that.

Can you pick up other bits from the pharmacy? Yes. Over-the-counter items, incontinence supplies, a specific vitamin, that is all fine. Give him the list in advance.
