Keysafe Installation in Cirencester
Police-approved Supra C500 keysafes fitted in a discreet but accessible spot near the front door, mortar drilled and wall-anchored.
A keysafe gives family, carers, and emergency services a way into the house when you cannot get to the door. Fitted properly, with the right model, on the right bit of wall, it is quiet reassurance that does not draw attention. Martin fits keysafes in Cirencester and the villages.
What is included
Supply and installation of a police-approved Supra C500 keysafe (or similar Secured By Design rated model), drilled into a solid wall with the supplied fixings, at a height and position agreed with you. Code set with you on fitting, tested twice, and the back-up key passed to you if the model has one. The wall the keysafe goes on is checked first to make sure it is genuinely solid: brick or stone is fine, a single-skin timber panel or a cavity is not, and Martin will point out a better spot if needed.
Supra C500 is the standard police-approved model and is what most carers and emergency services expect to see. Cheaper keysafes from the DIY shop are not a good idea, as they can be broken open with a hammer in under a minute, which undoes the whole point of having one.
What is NOT included
A keysafe is not a substitute for a proper Telecare alarm service. If the reason you are fitting one is because somebody at home might fall or need help urgently, a pendant alarm from the council or a private Telecare provider is the right first step, and the keysafe supports it. Martin will happily talk that through with you.
How long it takes
A straightforward installation is usually around an hour. A more awkward position (brickwork that needs careful pilot drilling, a spot where the angle is tight) can take a little longer. Code-setting and testing is part of that time.
Pricing
First hour £55, which covers a standard single installation. The keysafe itself can be supplied by you (the Supra C500 is widely available at around £50 to £70) or picked up at cost. For a care package where more than one family member or carer needs the code, Martin will talk you through how to manage that simply.
Common questions
Where is the best place to fit it? Somewhere accessible but not the obvious first place a passer-by would look. Down beside a front porch pillar, on the side of a garage that faces the front door, or under a window sill often works well. Martin will suggest options on the visit.
What if I forget the code? The Supra C500 has a master reset procedure that only Martin (or another fitter) can perform on site. The keysafe itself is not on a register, so forgetting the code is recoverable but needs a return visit.
Can you change the code later? Yes, easily. Martin will show you how to do it yourself on the initial fitting, and if you prefer, he can come back and do it.
