Handyman for Elderly Residents in Cirencester
Practical jobs, errands and a friendly chat, all in one visit.
This page is for older residents of Cirencester and for the adult children who help them run their homes. Martin covers the practical work that used to be easy and now feels awkward, and he does it without rushing.
One visit, several jobs
Most bookings combine two or three things. A light bulb in the hall that needs a taller ladder. A smoke alarm that keeps chirping. A bag of old paperwork for the tip. A quick walk to the pharmacy on the way back. The idea is that nothing on the list is too small and nothing has to wait for the next tradesman who happens to be passing.
Typical jobs Martin is asked to do
Fitting grab rails by the front door or in the bathroom. Hanging pictures that have been stacked against the wall for a year. Tightening a wobbly banister. Changing hard-to-reach bulbs. Putting up curtain poles. Moving a bed or a chest of drawers to a better spot. Replacing a tap washer. Building a garden bench. Taking items down to the recycling centre. Carrying the Christmas tree up from the garage.
Errands as part of the visit
If there is time left on the hour, Martin is happy to run to the chemist, the post office or the shop. He can drop clothes at the dry cleaner, return a library book, or pick up a prescription. It is all charged at the same hourly rate, so there is no separate errand fee.
What a visit looks like
Martin arrives at the agreed time, usually within a ten minute window. He brings the list in with him, works through it in order, and lets you know if something is going to take longer than expected. If there is tea on offer he will stop for five minutes. He tidies up at the end and carries any rubbish away.
Pricing
The first hour is £55 and each hour after that is £35. A half day is £125 and a full day is £230. For people who want a regular visit, the monthly Starter package is £55 for two hours, Regular is £100 for four hours and Premium is £185 for eight hours.
How to book
