Accompanying to Appointments in Cirencester
Driving to and from GP, hospital, dentist or solicitor appointments, waiting while you are in, and bringing you home.
Getting to a hospital appointment in Cheltenham or Gloucester is often harder than the appointment itself. Parking, signing in, waiting, getting home. Martin drives you, waits while you are in, and brings you home. It is company and a reliable lift rolled into one.
What is included
GP surgery visits in Cirencester and the villages, hospital appointments at Cheltenham General, Gloucestershire Royal, the Great Western in Swindon, or private clinics, dentist visits, optician visits, audiology and hearing aid appointments, solicitor meetings, bank meetings, and funeral directors. Martin drives, drops you as close to the entrance as possible, parks and pays, walks you in if that helps, waits in the waiting room or the car, and drives you home when you are ready.
What is NOT included
Martin is not a medical escort. He will not give medical advice, will not take notes inside the consultation unless you ask and the clinician agrees, will not make decisions on your behalf, and will not push a wheelchair through clinical areas unless that has been agreed with the clinic in advance. If you need a full medical escort, the hospital patient transport service is the right option.
How long it takes
A GP visit in Cirencester is usually one to two hours door to door, including the wait. A Cheltenham or Gloucester hospital appointment is typically two to four hours with drive time each way. Longer waits happen and are normal, Martin will stay as long as you need.
Pricing
First hour £55, each hour after £35. Longer appointments are often better priced on a half-day (£125, up to four hours) or a full day (£230). Mileage outside the five-mile Cirencester radius is 45p per mile to cover fuel and wear, and Martin will tell you the figure before you book.
Common questions
Will you sit in on the consultation? Only if you want Martin there and the clinician is comfortable with it. Most people prefer him to wait outside.
Can you remember what was said? If you want Martin to take rough notes, he will. Do not rely on him to remember dosages or medical instructions. Ask the receptionist for a printed summary.
Do you carry a first aid kit? Yes, a basic one in the van.
